Tables of New Zealand Acts and Ordinances and Statutory Regulations, and Deemed Regulations in Force

The Tables of New Zealand Acts and Ordinances and Statutory Regulations, and Deemed Regulations in Force list all Acts and Statutory Regulations in force at 1 January for a given year. The Tables also include a list of deemed regulations and the PCO editorial conventions for reprints.

This annual publication, available in hard copy format only, is available from Legislation Direct.

Early in 2008, the PCO conducted a survey of users of the Tables to gauge future demand for the publication. Results of the survey.

Electronic version of the Tables

The electronic version of the Tables was withdrawn from 31 March 2008. This is because the functions previously provided by the electronic version of the Tables are now provided by the New Zealand Legislation website.

• The browse feature of the New Zealand Legislation website produces alphabetical listings of legislation in force, by specified type (eg Act, public Act, private Act, imperial Regulation, etc). See the Guide to using the New Zealand Legislation website for more information on browsing.
• The New Zealand Legislation website is continuously updated (see About this site for more on the website’s currency), while the Tables were usually updated 3 to 4 times a year.
• The lists generated from the New Zealand Legislation website link directly to the relevant legislation, while the electronic version of the Tables did not provide any links
• The list of deemed regulations on the PCO website is still available and is updated monthly.
